LubTech-Digital Health 2021
08.09.202111:03

Today, the international conference "LubTech-Digital Health 2021" dedicated to digitization in the field of medicine and health is taking place. This is the first in a series of conferences devoted to new technologies that will be carried out under the common brand LubTech. The event takes place at the Lublin Conference Centre and online.

Lublin Medicine Cluster is an expert network bringing together many medical specialisations. It is an environment for an efficient innovation ecosystem which provides support to innovators and start-ups but also to mature companies from the healthcare sector. The Cluster’s projects in the area of innovation were awarded by experts in the summary of the study conducted by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development in the Benchmarking of Clusters 2020. The Cluster is also engaged in innovative projects in the field of eHealth and international cooperation with the most innovative expert centres in Europe.

The conference is addressed to a wide range of stakeholders active in the area of eHealth, such as representatives of public administration, universities and research institutes, healthcare entities, including public hospitals, innovation centres, accelerators, incubators, science and technology parks, networks of business angels, investment funds, clusters and enterprises (including start-ups) in the field of medicine and healthcare as well as ICT, organisations for people with special needs (including those acting on behalf of patients, seniors and people with disabilities) and a wide range of innovators and end users interested in innovation development in the field of eHealth. At the conference, key institutions will be presented that form the support system for innovation in eHealth and their role in the system, current trends as well as solutions designed for and implemented in this sector. The role of the end user as well as technological, legal, socio-economic and ethical barriers to implementation and commercialisation will be debated upon as well.

The conference is an excellent opportunity for managers and innovators to learn about major institutions for the support systems development in the field of eHealth innovation both at the national and the regional level, and to understand their role and offer. The event will be accompanied by a scientific symposium organised as part of the project Reinitialise implemented under Horizon 2020, led by Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin (partners: KU Leuven, University of Macerata, Eurocentro). The symposium was held on 7 September and its main topic was the protection of fundamental rights in the use of digital technologies in the eHealth sector.

The idea of the conference originated within Lublin Medicine Cluster – the largest health and medicine cluster in Poland.
