Signing ceremony of the partnership agreement between Lublin and Kharkiv (Ukraine) will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 3:00 p.m in Lublin City Hall.
The city-to-city partnership is the result of resolutions adopted by the City of Lublin in April. It also mirrors the deep-rooted relations between Lublin and Kharkiv. Kharkiv has been cooperating with City of Lublin since 2017. Forthwith, at this token moment, we aim to raise the level of our cooperation to a city-to-city partnership. The date of ceremony is not random. In Ukraine, Europe Day is celebrated during the third weekend of May. By signing this partnership, we wish to underline how meaningful unity and solidarity with Ukraine are now, not only with Lublin, but also with the whole of Europe. I am proud that our new partner is Kharkiv, the Hero City of Ukraine - said Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of Lublin
The ceremony will be streamed online due to the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine. It will be attended by: Artem Valah, Consul General of Ukraine in Lublin present in the Lublin City Hall, while Ihor Terekhov, Mayor of Kharkiv and Artur Pielasa from the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Kharkiv are to connect with Lublin online.
