Centre for Intercultural Creative Initiatives Crossroads invites you to the 14th edition of Festival of Traditional and Avantgarde Music CODES, which will be held in Lublin from 11 to 15 May 2022.
The Codes Festival of Tradition and Avant-Garde Music was invented to combine the tradition of early music with modern exploration. Contemporary composers improvisers often rely on early sound forms, both in the form and means of expression. The combination of traditional and contemporary aesthetics creates a new quality when the magical function of early music meets with up-to-date music. When set side by side, they show their proximity and mutual penetration. The festival attracts outstanding artists, contemporary music writers, the representatives of avant-garde jazz, as well as traditional musicians and artists bringing old traditions back to life.
