Ukraine celebrates the 30th anniversary of Independence

Ukraine celebrates the 30th anniversary of Independence
24.08.202113:25

On 24 August 1991, the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) on behalf of the Ukrainian people finally adopted the Act of Independence of Ukraine. Poland was the first country to recognize this Independence. On this red-letter Day, we do understand how much our countries have in common. The recent decades have been marked by numerous projects for the benefit of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation.
Polish and Ukrainian NGOs, cultural institutions and self-governments hold a special place in forming this partnership. On the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence, Mayor of Lublin expressed his good wishes to the Mayors of Lublin's Partner and Friend Cities: Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kamieniec Podolski, Kryvyi Rih, Lviv, Lutsk, Rivne, Starobielsk, Sum, Vinnitsa, Dnieper, as well as to all the Ukrainians living in our city. NGOs, self-governments, schools, libraries, district community centres, media, academic communities, ventures and private parties joined the celebration of the anniversary of Independence as part of the Ukraine 30 PL initiative.

There are more than 60 institutions and NGOs participating in the celebration:

  • the City of Lublin,
