Lublin schools will obtain sports and educational equipment. The international organisation will support Lublin within the agreement made between the parties.
At the end of 2023, the City obtained 43 pallets of sports and educational equipment for children from preschools and primary schools. The equipment will be delivered to Lublin educational institutions with the highest number of Ukrainian schoolchildren. The equipment will be provided for both Ukrainian and Polish children and will include 2500 sets of educational materials consisting of art materials, notebooks, pens, other school supplies, and 3000 school bags. Children from 30 primary schools in Lublin will benefit. Moreover, nearly 50 educational facilities will each obtain 2 sets of sports equipment for individual and team sports. Additionally, the youngest residents of Lublin will receive 90 sets of early development equipment. The equipment will be delivered to nearly 60 nursery schools in Lublin, Baobab and Spilno Community Centres, collective accommodations for Ukrainian citizens, Child Advocacy Centre and orphanages.
Within the agreement between Lublin and UNICEF made in June 2022, many activities were performed for the benefit of Ukrainian refugees and Lublin residents. The results of these activities include establishing Spilno, which is a place of support and integration for children and youth. The activities also include raising funds to provide food and hygiene products for refugees in accommodation centres, purchasing educational materials and books to libraries, holiday camps for 300 refugee children, food purchase for the food distribution centre, or equipping schools in Lublin with educational materials, sports equipment, computers, furniture, and kitchen and canteen equipment.
The total value of material and financial aid provided to Lublin is almost PLN 18,000,000. Further cooperation is planned in 2024.
