The City of Lublin invites to the celebrations commemorating the 454th anniversary of the Union of Lublin. This year's celebrations will feature a performance by the youth chamber choir "Aidija" from Vilnius.

The Polish-Lithuanian union concluded in our city in 1569, which combined the traditions and cultures of various nations living in a common state, is considered one of the most important events in the history of Poland and Europe. As part of this year's celebration we will have the opportunity to see the concert of the Chamber Choir "Aidija" from Vilnius, our partner city, which celebrates its 700th anniversary this year. I invite the inhabitants of Lublin to celebrate together - says Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of Lublin.

The Union of Lublin Day will start on Saturday (July 1) at 11.00 at Litewski Square, where representatives of local and regional authorities and different delegations will lay flowers at the monument of the Union of Lublin. At 11:00 there will be opening of the temporary exhibition entitled OBRRAZ at the Museum of the Eastern Territories of the Old Polish Republic (Litewski Square 3). The exhibition is the premiere presentation of the work of the OBRRAZ Group, bringing together valued artists, mostly professors of art universities in Poland, among others, Krzysztof Gliszczyński, Łukasz Huculak, Sławomir Marzec, Lech Twardowski and Tomasz Zawadzki. Another item on the programme of this year's celebrations will be the concert "Sub Tuum Praesidium - Under Your Protection" performed by the Chamber Choir "Aidija" from Vilnius under the direction of Romualdas Gražinis - artistic director and founder of the group. The event will take place at 19.00 in the Dominicans Basilica at Złota 9, after the Holy Mass. At 9:30 p.m. the multimedia fountain will feature the Union of Nations show, which tells about the development of relations between Poland and Lithuania and the creation of one of the most durable political unions in history. The program of shows for this day also includes the show "Lublin is YOUth", which was created in connection with the celebration of the European Youth Capital Lublin 2023. In addition, on Sunday (July 2) at 12.00, the Chamber Choir "Aidija" will lead a short flashmob at Plac po Farze.

The admission to all events is free.
