The building at ul. Łagiewnicka has been handed over to “Misericordia” by the City of Lublin. New occupants will have at their disposal fully equipped single, double, and triple rooms. They will also have access to bathrooms, kitchen and to meeting place. One carer will be permanently present in the house.
At present, “Misericordia” Association has a Community Self-Help Centre for people with mental disabilities. It provides social and health rehabilitation. It also has 9 therapeutic workrooms and the Institute of Professional Activity in which 34 people with mental disabilities are employed. Moreover, it organises Occupational Therapy Workshops that help to take up a job within 7 workshops and it manages a Self-Help Club “Misericordia”.
The Association has provided 22 living places for its residents so far. The new initiative in the form of a “Family house” will contribute to support for other people with disabilities who struggle with living difficulties. The building adaptation and the purchase of equipment have been financed from the profits of the Institute of Professional Activity which operates within the Association.
