The inspired-by-true-events story of a teacher (Andrzej Chyra) who decides to hide a progressive sight loss from everyone surrounding him gained massive recognition of the jury and great appreciation among the festival’s international audience. The movie was produced by AURUM FILM in a co-production with ORANGE POLSKA and LIGHTCRAFT company. It was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute and the City of Lublin under Lublin Film Fund.

“It is a story of a man whose world is suddenly starting to fall apart and who is faced with the choice of either defeating or being defeated,” said the director and scriptwriter before the film’s premiere. As far as the cast is concerned, actor Andrzej Chyra plays the leading role and is assisted by, among others, Eliza Rycembel and Arkadiusz Jakubik.

The film was shot almost entirely in Lublin. The interior and open-air shootings showed contemporary city with characteristic trolleybuses and beautiful Old Town. It is the first feature film where Lublin plays the main role. The great asset of the movie is its universal message and interesting script.

Shanghai International Film Festival is one of the largest film festivals in Asia. It belongs to the film festivals which are accredited as category A by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations. In the same category one may find such film festivals as the ones in Cannes, Venice or Berlin.
