Lublin Basket Cup 2015 – U16 Boys International Basketball Tournament

As set out in the schedule of the tournament, there will be a fierce competition amongst 10 teams, 8 of which are from abroad. An official invitation to participate in the event was accepted by the following cities: Brest (Belarus), Lutsk (Ukraine), Panevezys (Lithuania), Rishon le Zion (Israel), Alcalá de Henares (Spain), Nilüfer (Turkey), Omsk (Russia) and Jiaozuo (China). Moreover, two youth teams from Lublin will partake in the competition as well as players from Radom and Biała Podlaska. The organisers would proudly host approx. 150 players in total.
It is through events of this nature that we strive to promote appropriate attitudes among the youngest players and we help to make their sporting dreams and ambitions come true at the same time. The sheer fact of integration and networking among participants, sports activists and local authorities cannot go unappreciated too. Moreover, the organisation of the tournament constitutes an excellent promotion of the city nationwide. Since its international dimension, projects like this are gaining increasing interest from national media. News bites from the tournament will feature in media abroad as well.
We believe that this project will aid in consolidating the image of Lublin as the city that caters for the sporting needs of young people.
We strongly hope that the tournament will not be a one-off event but will be the onset of the series. Lublin Basket Cup 2015 is held under the Honorary Patronage of the Mayor of the City of Lublin as well as under the auspices of Lublin Basketball Association.
