- Lublin takes part in Christmas Festival in Ivano-Frankivsk
On January 11-13, 2018 a Christmas Festival was held in Ivano-Frankivsk. A vocal group “Sine Nomine” from Lublin participated in this event. The vocal group gave concert of Polish Christmas carols at the carol festival and performed at the Centre of Polish Culture and European Dialogue on the occasion of the annual meeting of the Association of Polish Culture “Friendship”. The performances of the Lublin band were warmly welcomed by the audience.
“Sine Nomine” has been active since 1999 under the direction of Ms Izabela Urban. The vocal group sings primarily a cappella. Its repertoire includes songs from different ages, from early to modern music. The group is composed of young students from Lublin's middle and high schools.
- Lublin Christmas Wafer Meeting in Lviv
On January 19-21, 2018 a Christmas Wafer Meeting was held in Lviv, Ukraine. This event has a history of over 20 years and it is organised by the Chancellery of the Mayor of the City of Lublin, Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv and "Wspólne korzenie" (Common roots) Association.
The programme of the event included, among others, a visit to the Children's Home no. 1. in the Upper Lychakiv district. The children living in that children's home received gifts prepared by the Lublin companies. The Christmas Wafer Meeting took place in the Palace of Arts in Lviv. The event was attended by the representatives of Lublin and Lviv authorities, the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv, clergy representatives as well as the residents of the City of Lviv and Lviv region. The participants also visited a border city Mostyska, where they had an opportunity to meet Poles who live there.
- Khmelnytskyi delegation visits Lublin
An official 9-person delegation from Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine, was visiting Lublin on January 22-23, 2018. The members of the delegation were representatives of various departments of the Khmelnytskyi Municipal Office.
The programme of the visit included meetings with employees of the Department of Strategy and Investors Assistance, Social Participation Office and Department of Sports and Tourism. During their stay, Ukrainian visitors got familiar with the functioning of nursery schools and kindergartens in Lublin.
Discussions also revolved around electronic administration, development of green spaces, public housing management and energy-efficient retrofitting. Last but not least, the guests had an opportunity to explore the city.
