Mayor Krzysztof Żuk – Person of the Year 2013

The title is a great honour for me. I perceive it as a proof of confidence and a clear sign that citizens notice changes occurring in Lublin. Since the beginning of the term we have been carrying out serious investment actions and so far we have spent on investments more than 2 billion PLN, mainly from European funds. It is possible because people, for whom Lublin development is really important, want to work above political divisions. I would like to give special thanks to the councillors of Civic Platform (PO) and Common Lublin Club (Klub Wspólny Lublin), as well as to the district councils and non-governmental organisations. Together we change the city effectively. I am proud of the fact that citizens become more and more involved in deciding about the future of Lublin through various kinds of participation instruments that have been introduced. Currently, we are implementing a citizen budget thanks to which Lublin residents will be able to decide about the use of the part of city budget funds on the chosen purposes. We try to meet the citizens’ needs, says Mayor Krzysztof Żuk.

The title Person of the Year has been granted for the third time. This year there were 30 candidates and the voting lasted three weeks. The statuette for the winner and certificates for the participants will be awarded on 4th March 2014 in the Crown Tribunal.
