19.12.201710:28

This New Year’s Eve, Lublin residents will have two big reasons to celebrate. Not only will they welcome the New Year, but also officially finish the celebration of the 700th anniversary of the granting of the city charter to Lublin. City residents are invited to Plac Teatralny square, where the greatest musical ambassadors of Lublin will perform on one stage. These include Romuald Lipko together with artists comprising Budka Suflera band throughout the 40 years of their existence. That is, among others, Izabela Trojanowska, Felicjan Andrzejczak and Grzegorz Wilk. These music stars will remind us Budka Suflera’s biggest hits which brought up many generations of Poles. We shall return to the present thanks to the band Better, which perform pop music standards, and singer Yankee, a co-founder of Chonabibe band who premiered his own songs in 2017 when opening the biggest European festival of this kind, i.e. the 23rd Woodstock Festival Poland. The New Year’s Eve celebration will also feature light visualisations, laser shows and tones of confetti.

After Budka Suflera ceased to exist, Romuald Lipko set up a new band, i.e. ROMUALD LIPKO BAND, which performs compilations of the most well-known Budka Suflera’s songs that have become undisputed Polish pop music standards. This project is a summary of Lipko’s artistic work as a composer of hits preformed by renowned Polish artists.

1. YANKEE (ARTUR MATUSEWICZ)

He produced his solo album in Canada in cooperation with Luc Tellier, a record producer of stars like Simple Plan. He premiered his own songs in 2017 when opening the biggest European festival of this kind, i.e. the 23rd Woodstock Festival Poland. As a member of a Lublin-based music band Chonabibe, he has cooperated both in the studio and on stage with, among other, the Tomasz Momot Orchestra, Grubson, Marika, Junior Stress as well as with the following DJs: BRK, Feel-X (Kaliber 44) and Kostek. As a session musician, for many years he has taken part in recordings of different artists, including sketch comedy group Kabaret Smile from Lublin, with whom he has performed about fifty times.

2. Better

Stimulating and popular own compositions, interesting versions of popular music standards, good lyrics and musical workshop at the highest level. The group is composed of four musicians, i.e. Piotr Bogutyn, Paweł Błędowski, Dominik Dudzik and Grzegorz Kuligowski, who cooperate with the best Polish artists. The plan of the band is simple: go-aheadism above all! Apart from catchy compositions by Paweł Błędowski, the band performs also their own versions of songs of such legends as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Cat Stevens or Elton John. And what about the name of the band? It comes from the lyrics of The Beatles: “It’s getting BETTER all the time…”

3. Lipko Band

After Budka Suflera ceased to exist, Romuald Lipko set up a new band, i.e. ROMUALD LIPKO BAND which performs compilations of the most well-known Budka Suflera’s songs that have become undisputed Polish pop music standards. The project is a summary of his artistic work as a composer of hits performed by renowned Polish artists. Lipko is accompanied on stage by Izabela Trojanowska, Felicjan Andrzejczak, Grzegorz Wilk and young talented artists with whom Lipko is cooperating more and more often, creating and announcing new musical projects.
