Volleyball School Centre Academy Sets Off
19.01.201510:22

Volleyball School Centre Academy is the Polish national program that aims to train children and youth in mini volleyball and volleyball. The expected result is to increase physical activity among students thanks to volleyball.
Every VSC School is obliged to establish the VSC Academy in cooperation with the lower level schools. This type of activity will enable building of a local training pyramid in institutions aimed at children. In poviats, cities and communes, the creation of local training networks will contribute to the community's integration around volleyball. It will provide a basis to implement local, central or EU projects.
"In Lublin we support sport development of children and youth at schools, which are the places where such sports academies are easy to establish and thrive the best. In Lublin we pu and we will put sport first, not only regarding the infrastructure that we create together, but also when it comes to animation and sports activities in and around schools," said Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of the City of Lublin.
"We have been developing the VSC programme at the highest level for a year. Now, it is time to reach lower levels, i.e. primary schools. It is an initiative of local governments, headmasters and teachers who are in our project to prepare children to the high-level professional volleyball. The main objective is to, within a few years, educate players who, in the future, will play in the Polish national volleyball team at the highest level," said Waldemar Wspaniały, leader of the Volleyball School Centres project and member of the Polish Volleyball Federation Board.
Tomasz Wójtowicz, a volleyball player and gold medallist of the 1974 World Championship and the 1976 Olympic Games, is the ambassador of Lublin VSC Academies. Marcin Prus, a former multiple Polish national volleyball player, is the national VSC ambassador. The Mayor of the City of Lublin and the Polish Volleyball Federation support the action.
