The traditions of John Paul, II Catholic University of Lublin date back almost 100 years. It is the first Catholic university in Central-Eastern Europe and the only one in Poland. Courses are delivered at 9 faculties offering more than 40 fields of study. Academics continuously undertake new scientific research projects contributing to the progress of science. Many of them have spectacular achievements. The students praise not only modern research/teaching infrastructure, but also the competence and excellent methodological skills of the academic staff, i.e. 1,500 outstanding specialists. Special mention must be made of the interdisciplinary nature of the studies offered and the unique fields of study available at KUL. The University systematically adjusts and optimises the curricula of all the levels of study to the changing needs of the labour market. The University’s distinctive feature in the region is its cooperation with the network of Catholic universities, opening to the East, in particular to China, which is testified by the unique field of study offered – Sinology.
