Filmy Dobrze Zakręcone (The Freaked out Films) and Pełny Metraż (Full Lenght) are accepting sublissions of films for their festivals in Lublin
: The Freaked out Films Festival – submission deadline for foreign films is 24th September 2013; for Polish films it is 1st October 2013 Full Lenght Festival - submission deadline for foreign films is 18th October 2013; for Polish films it is 31st October 2013 This year the films may be sent by post or via the Internet. For more information about festivals, the rules and the application forms visit www.kinoteatrprojekt.pl.
Films being shown by Kinoteatr Projekt at The Freaked out Films Festival are independent productions crossing cinematic conventions, full of originality and, as a rule, “crazy”. The festival gives artists the space for experimenting and playing with the subject of film and with the audience. The works are sent by those authors who are not afraid to translate their unusual ideas into the language of film. They are films created not with the festival in mind but honest, authentic and …pretty freaked out. The audience of the Freaked out Films Festival is also different and looking for other sensations than that of a typical off cinema festival. At the festival we present short films (20 minutes maximum) – feature films, animations or documentaries. The means of artistic expression used in the film do not determine admission; the films made with cameras, digital / video cameras, mobile phones, computers, coloured pencils, crayons or whatever you like can be presented at the festival. There is one essential condition, though. The films must be really freaked out! On 20th through 24th November 2013, the eight edition of the “Full Length” Festival of Young Cinema will be held. It is the only festival in Poland devoted exclusively to independent, full length feature films and documentaries. Such films are occurrences of special importance. For many years their artistic and intellectual quality continues to develop; they are becoming equal competition for big-budget movies, major studio films. The films are made by enthusiasts driven primarily by the authentic need to make a statement and the genuine desire to create films, based on their own original screenplays. This allows them to serve as an important and authentic medium of expression for the young generation We believe that the full length format of the films encourages the authors to express deeper, better thought –out views on relevant issues. It also forces the audiences to focus more on the thoughts and messages carried by the movies. This led to the idea to create a place where such films could be presented to the audience in a way allowing their authors to directly meet with their viewers. We sincerely hope that the “Full Length” Festival is becoming such a place. This year’s edition of the festival will take the form of a contest with a cash prize which will be awarded by the audience after the last contest screening. Any holder of a book of tickets for all the films participating in the contest will be entitled to place a vote. We hope to continue the previous years’ practice of combining the screenings with meetings and discussions with the filmmakers. The formula proved successful durind previous editions of the festival. We are convinced that the combination of a carefully selected repertoire and the possibility of meeting the authors will attract wide audiences to the Centre for Culture in Lublin.
