Call for Papers: Video in Visual Arts Conference
05.11.201310:22

The conference is for academics, students, culture researchers, curators, art critics, philosophers, artists and individuals with an interest in the use of experimental film and video techniques in contemporary art. Proposals of papers can be submitted by November 25, 2013.
Since the 1960s, the video technique has been more and more often used by visual artists, being a constant source of inspiration for artists in every decade that followed. Artists experiment with communication possibilities offered by the use of a camera; they manipulate image and sound, and projections are used in a unique way every time. The differences in using this medium stem from the selection of equipment, filming end editing methods to a place and way for presenting the finished work. Possibilities offered by the application of contemporary video techniques in arts continue to expand. The conference aims at capturing the diversity of uses of video in arts and reflecting upon the artistic potential of this medium. The conference organizers expect presentations that take both historical and problem-related perspectives on the topic, as well as presentations that focus on works of particular artists.
