I Love Cinema: The Screening of ”Jack Strong” at Multikino
Colonel Ryszard Kukliński has access to the top secret files of the Warsaw Pact. When he finds out about confidential plans that may lead to the outbreak of world war 3, he decides to act and starts collaborating with the CIA. Right at the heart of the Soviet system, he is doomed to fight a lonely battle he cannot tell even his own wife about. How long will he be able to operate behind the KGB's back? He knows that by handing classified documents over to the Americans he is risking his, his wife’s and his sons' lives. He knows that he can lose everything in this battle for freedom.
The screenplay was written in collaboration with CIA agents and the film was made in three languages: Polish, English and Russian. The film stars Marcin Dorociński (Rose, Manhunt, Traffic Police) as Colonel Ryszard Kukliński, Patrick Wilson (Watchmen, Angles in America, Prometheus) as David Forden, the CIA agent Strong collaborates with, Maja Ostaszewska (Katyń, Entanglement) as the colonel's wife, Józef Pawłowski and Piotr Nerlewski as his sons, and Dagmara Domińczyk (Kinsey, Count Monte Christo) as a CIA agent. The supporting cast includes a galaxy of excellent Polish and Russian actors, such as Krzysztof Pieczyński, Mirosław Baka, Ireneusz Czop, Zbigniew Zamachowski, Krzysztof Globisz, Paweł Małaszyński as well as Oleg Maslennikov and Dimitri Bilov. The cinematography was done by Magdalena Górka (paranormal Activity 3).
The film was produced by the Scorpio Studio and co-produced by the Vue Movie Distribution, Orange Polska, TAURON Polska Energia, Sebastian Kulczyk and Polish national Centre for Culture. The film was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute and distributed by the Vue Movie Distribution.
