The Duckie Deck Academy is a series of workshops for children and parents combining modern technology and creative play. The workshops in Krakow, Warsaw, Tri-City, Poznan, Wrocław, Łodz, Szczecin and Rzeszów have gathered almost several thousands of children. Lublin is another stop on the Academy’s tour!

On the first weekend of October, the premises of the Lublin Science and Technology Park will be filled with a swarm of intrigued children embarking on an adventurous journey into the world of modern technology, robots and interesting experiments. Every child will have not only lots of fun, but will also experience activities developing imagination, arousing curiosity and inspiring to seek their interests.

"We want to show parents how to use new technologies in education and to support them in inspiring children to ask questions and pursue their passions. Many people do not know that a simple iPad can be a great educational tool. We want to have as many kids as possible to develop their interests after the workshops, which will help them at school or university,"says Marek Przystaś, founder of the Duckie Deck.

The programme of the workshops will be a great fun for all little builders, young explorers and curious inventors. Inquisitive children will spend several hours creating, building and solving puzzles. Parents have a vast selection of workshops they can sign up their children for – from building robots and creating a fairy tale using stop-motion animation techniques, to learning the basics of programming!

"The Lublin Science and Technology Park has always supported creative projects, especially those which stimulate imaginative and unconventional thinking in children. We are convinced that every participant in the Duckie Deck Academy will end up with new knowledge and eager to deepen it," says Tomasz Małecki, Chairman of the Board of the Lublin Science and Technology Park.

“Our goal is mainly to stimulate children's curiosity. Every place we visit is transformed into a testing ground for both parents and children. At the workshop the kids can try out everything by themselves, they can build, construct, invent, combine and, at the same time, have fun. We believe it is the best way to effectively reach a demanding audience such as children,” explains Ula Młodnicka-Kornaś, psychologist and author of the Academy’s programme.

Besides the classes which require advance registration, the organizers invite everyone to the open area with no age limit or the need to register. Here, the kids will find a robots zone, games teaching the basics of programming, several electronic gadgets and many other attractions. The youngest children will creatively spend time doing open art workshops or in the small builders zone with tracks and bridges for miniature trains.

Duckie Deck Academy workshops will be held on 1-2 October at the Lublin Science and Technology Park  (ul. Dobrzańskiego 3).
