The Wszystkie Mazurki Świata Foundation announces the fifth edition of the Old Tradition competition which will be held as part of the 2015 All Mazurkas of the World Festival in Warsaw.
The competition is an opportunity for young musicians, vocalists and ensembles to display their musical skills rooted in the Polish folk tradition.
The competition seeks to promote young instrumentalists and vocalists who perpetuate Polish traditional music originating from historical or contemporary regions of the country and attempt to include it in the contemporary culture.
10 finalists will be invited to perform in the competition final concert during the All Mazurkas of the World Festival which will be held on 21 April 2015 in Warsaw. The winners of the first three prizes will be awarded with cash prizes. The total prize pool is 4500 PLN. Winners will be selected by a jury made up of experts, musicians and musical heritage scholars. The Festival audience will present its own award, too.
