The “Bliski Wschód” Artists Association in collaboration with the Centre for Culture in Lublin, Jerzy Grotowski Institute in Wrocław and S. T. Chorea Theatre in Łódź invite everyone to “Dynamika Metamorfozy – warsztat aktora antycznego” (Dynamics of Metamorphosis. A Workshop on Ancient Acting). The 7th workshop session led by Paweł Passini and the neTTheatre members, featuring young actors and dancers from Brazil, USA, Iran, Spain, Italy, Ukraine and Poland, will be held September 26 through October 5 at the Center for Culture in Lublin. The programme highlights include open shows of reconstructed ancient acting techniques as well as lectures on art and culture in ancient Greece conducted by invited experts. All events are free of charge, but advance registration is required to participate in the workshop. Workshop on Ancient Songs, September 26-28, 5:30 – 7:30 PM (Center for Culture in Lublin, neTTheatre’s Rehearsal Room) Conducted by Dorota Krzyżanowska and Tomasz Krzyżanowski from Chorea Theatre, the workshop will include the work on voice, rhythm and movement, which refers to the ancient principle of choreia: the unity of dance, song and word. The classes will be based on source materials and preserved records of music and dance from that period. Participants will get familiar with the research materials (on music, language and theatre) the theatre group has been using for 10 years. Participation in the workshop is free of charge.
