Tree music events, on May 1st, 3rd and 5th, take place as a part of the commemoration of the anniversary of the Union of Lublin. Both repertoire and the setting are exceptional and symbolic. The aria with carillon will be heard on Litewski Square, international ethno-jazz at the castle courtyard, and saxophone will fill the Dominican Church.
May 1, at 7.00 pm – The Haunted Manor by the Music Theatre. Admission free. May 3, at 7:00 pm – ethno-jazz at the castle courtyard; a concert of groups from Ukraine, Lithuania, Belarus and Poland. The event is organized by the Kultura Enter Foundation. Admission free. May 5, at 7:30 pm – a concert of a composer and saxophonist Jan Garbarek with the British vocal quartet The Hilliard Ensemble. The event takes place in the Dominican Church. Tickets – 150zł/80zł can be booked at the Centre for Intercultural Creative Initiatives “Crossroads” (phone number: 081 466 59 89) The Union of Lublin was signed on July 1, 1569 and it was an agreement between the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. It created a single State, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
