TeChytrze’s music is an intriguing blend of traditional songs from Lublin, blues, punk, jazz and psychedelic surf. No wonder, given that their great-grandmothers – due to exceptionally serious disturbances of space and time – grew cabbage right next to American cotton plantations, succumbed to influences of the punk revolt, and travelled across faraway prairies and deserts!
As a result of exceptionally serious disturbances of space and time, our great-grandmothers grew cabbage next to American cotton plantations, succumbed to influences of the punk revolt, and travelled across faraway prairies and deserts. Labour songs of black slaves mixed with songs of pale and ruddy-faced peasants, while punk dirt and western music were confronted with love lyric. The unusual neighbourhood and circumstances led to creating new music genres. Although exotic melodies have supplanted the traditional ones, the language and meaning of songs have remained unchanged. TeChytrze have undertaken to reconstruct this music.
