BRUNO SCHULZ (gig), ŚMIERĆ DISKO SOUND(S) (dj set) On the 12th of February the band BRUNO SCHULZ returned to our sight releasing a new album “Eastern Europe”. The record label of this album is SP Records (Kult, Kaliber 44, Pidżama Porno, Happysad). “Eastern Europe” marks out a new direction for the group. BRUNO SCHULZ is one of the few young polish bands that, during the major wave of indie music, was brave enough to pick up the East European expressionism of sounds and lyrics.
Karol Stolarka’s lyrics, although very universal, are deeply set into the reality of this part of the world. The combination of original and involved lyrics with psychedelic guitars and dynamic rhythms, make them a unique phenomenon of the polish music scene. www.brunoschulz.pl www.myspace.com/brunoshulz Śmierć Disko Sound(s) is a dj-team twisting people’s spines, minds and ears with alternative sounds from late 70’s till now. At the end it’s all about dancing so they try to dig out dancing grooves from music trends such as postpunk, new wave, cold wave, no wave, electro and dance-punk. They keep travelling virtually through time and space, bringing carefully selected sounds for the ones of strong feet and open minds. Lately Śmierć Disko Sound(s) have played at various art and culture festivals and “live act/dead act” gigs. They warmed up the audience of artists like Procesora Plus and Dick4Dick and played after-parties with Mikrowafle, Organizm, Bruno Schulz, Bajzel, Stodola and Naczynia. www.myspace.com/smiercdiskosoundsystem 25th of April, Tektura, ul. Wieniawska 15A, start: 8pm, ticket: 10zł
