Fiesta Alegria is a two-day event full of music, dance, rhythm,and color. It takes its participants to the sunny regions of Andalusia, part of Spain and the cradle of Flamenco. The event takes place from July 31 through August 1 in the bandshell in Saski Garden.
Flamenco means sensual dance, colorful outfits, and gestures thatexpress emotions and tell stories with passion, energy and temperament. it is also a philosophy of life and culture, which manifests itself in singing, dancing, gestures and behaviors.
The festival is addressed to everyone who loves dance and music. Thanks to numerous concerts, performances, and movies, the audience can learn about the richness and diversity of the Spanish culture. The participants of the festival are artists from Poland and abroad,
Antonio Arrebola and Los Payos band will be performing during the first day. They will take the audience on a trip to Andalusia. Performance "Tejidos al Tempo" by Choni Compañía Flamenco is a unique event. It was prepared by Asunción Pérez – a renowned dancer from Sevilla. She uses danceto express her thoughts about life, death, and passing time.
Part of the festival are dance workshops taught by Łucja Krasińska, the originator of the Estudio de Baile Flamenco Alegria – flamenco school in Lublin.
The participants of the workshops will perform during a concert in the Saski Garden.
