Jazz Bez is a Polish-Ukrainian Festival organized since 2000 and attracting musicians from all over the world.
Every year, the artistic level of the festival is higher, and also the number of events and participants is rising. This year, the festival will last for 10 days.
Over the last nine years, the musicians have presented various styles, searched for new conventions and forms of expressions. The festival has also influenced various new audiences and inscribed itself in people's memory.
In December 2009, this transborder jazz festival will unite Polish and Ukrainian cities: Lviv, Lublin, Przemyśl, Tarnopol, Sanok, Lutsk, Odesa, Kiev, Sevastopol and Simferopol. It will present various types of jazz, experimental and improvised music of well known bands as well as new projects of great musicians.
Lublin will host the festival for the second time. Last year many people became interested in Ukrainian jazz music and the festival resulted in many Polish-Ukrainian projects and exchanges. This year Lublin will be visited by musicians from Ukraine, Poland, Canada, Japan, the Netherlands, France and Belarus.
The festival is organized by Trans Kultura Foundation, Workshops of Culture, "Czarcia Łapa" Restaurant.
