The idea behind the project is promotion of the Polish-Ukrainian dialogue concerning the fields of culture, art and science. It also aims at promotion of Ukrainian culture in Poland, and Polish in Ukraine.
Its importance is seen in in a place like Lublin that is located close to the Ukrainian border. Lublin is considered the "Gate of the East," but the knowledge of our neighbor’s culture is oftentimes limited to stereotypes. There is also no interest in its language and culture.
The first edition of the project includes two meetings: theatre and media. Guests from Poland and Ukraine, especially those dealing with transborder issues, have been invited to take part in them. The meetings give a chance to talk about similarities and differences between the nations and cultures.
