Crossroads Centre invites you to a battle between traditional and experimental/electronic music and also other new trends in music. Cezary Duchnowski represents the electronic "side” of the proejct together with his laptop trio Phonos ek Mechanes. The defenders of traditional music are outstanding traditional violinists: Jan Gaca from Przystałowice Małe, Ewa Grochowska and Maciej Filipczuk known from music project – MetaMuzyka.
The musicians first faced a battle during the Festival of Traditional and Avant-garde Music CODES. Although it's difficut to clearly determine a winner, the fiddlers have definitely got the support of the audience with their energy and trans. Crossroads Centre have decided to set a ring stage for the musicians again to let them re-measure their strength. This time the back-up for Phonos ek Mechanes is a band adored by wide circles, Small Instruments which plays music on toys and every day-use objects. The violinists position will be strengthened by energetic musicians from the Band of Dziobaki Brothers from Wola Destymflandzka, Sylwia Piekarczyk and Krzysztof Butryn.
The battle is preceded by a concert of a similar nature. This will be the first show of a new music project formed by experimental musicians Kim Nasung, Kiloo and Vasen Piparjuuri and The Ensemble of the International School of Traditional Music founded and leaded by „Muzyka Kresów” Foundation. The “axis” of this project are traditional songs associated with the most important events in one’s life: birth, wedding and funeral. This is a chance to see young talented artists who have taken the difficult task of combining tradition with avant-garde in music.
