SOS for Seniors - wristbands for life in Lublin

A pilot care programme for 400 older and disabled persons is being launched in Lublin. The local authorities and the company SiDLY Ltd. will supply and provide remote services with a GPS tracking device, offering constant help via the 24/7 Telecare Center. Recruitment of programme participants lasts until August 7th.

This is the first such a project in our city. The initiative is a part of the "Lublin Zone 60+", which is being implemented in Lublin. The main goal is to improve seniors' quality of life. We want to enable older people to stay as safe as possible at home, by using modern information and communication technologies. This understanding of care for dependent people and the elderly is a part of our social policy, says Krzysztof Żuk, Mayor of the City of Lublin.

It gives a sense of security for both the senior and his loved ones who do not stay with them every day. Not only does it allow to monitor basic life activities but also it gives an opportunity to communicate with the Telecare Center.

The cost of supplying 400 persons with wristbands and providing a monitoring system (settled through a tender) equals PLN 190,000. The purchase will be financed by the European Union under the Regional Operational Programme of the Lubelskie Voivodeship for the years 2014-2020.

Each wristband has an individual, unique number and is equipped with:

  •     buttons for direct connection to the Telecare Center and receiving incoming calls,
  •     heart rate meter,
  •     fall sensor,
  •     sensor of putting the band on/off,
  •     GPS tracker (covers 100% of the area of ​​Lublin),
  •     measurement of the battery charging level.
