10-15.08 (Thu-Tue) – The Great Lublin Jubilee – City’s Birthday Party
Lublin started celebrating 700 years of its foundation in January. This impressive anniversary is a great occasion to look closely at the long history and rich tradition of our city, but also to pay respect to our ancestors whose work and creativity shaped our history. Founding the city in 1317, King Władysław Łokietek connected the city with European economy and culture. Without his courage and faith in Lublin’s potential, the city we know today would not exist. The year-round programme of the Jubilee, created together with the Lubliners, combines elements of culture, science, sport, tourism and social activism and culminates with the august Birthday Party.
