Spectacles/cinema

On every Friday, at the Centre for Culture you will have an opportunity to see various performers presenting a review of comedy genres. This week, the actor Wojciech Tremiszewski will host the event. Another premiere "Antygona w Nowym Jorku" is planned on Sunday at the Osterwa Theatre. The plot takes place overnight amidst homeless emigrants in a New York park. Whereas at the Andersen Theatre you will be able to see "Podwójne życie Weroniki" written by Kieślowski and Krzysztof Piesiewicz. It explores the themes of identity, love, and human intuition through the characters of Weronika, a Polish choir soprano, and her double, Véronique, a French music teacher. The two women do not know each other, and yet they share a mysterious and emotional bond that transcends language and geography. And Theatrical Marathon will be held at Gardzienice Centre for Theatre Practices. This time, the Old Theatre invites you to "Pain and Glory/Ból i blask" by Pedro Almodovar. The film narrates a series of reunions of Salvador Mallo (Antonio Banderas), a film director in his decline. Some of these reunions play out in real time, others are recalled through flashbacks. Moreover the repertoire of the Old Theatre includes meetings with the opera The Met: "Agrippina" by Georg Friedrich Händel.

Concerts

The Philharmonic offers not only the Sunday musical morning „Urodziny Chopina- muzyka Polska” but also the opera performance by W. A. Mozart “Uprowadzenie z seraju/The Abduction from the Seraglio". The plot concerns the attempt of the hero Belmonte, assisted by his servant Pedrillo, to rescue his beloved Konstanze from the seraglio of Pasha Selim. The work premiered on 16 July 1782 at the Vienna Burgtheater, with the composer conducting. The concert "Gramy dla Mai" will be played at the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures. It will be accompanied by Maksymilian Łapiński from the TV programme “The Voice of Poland”.

Meetings

On Friday, the Hieronim Łopaciński Regional Public Library invites you to the last lecture of "Union of Lublin and its traditions" series. On the other hand, you may visit the Old Theatre to meet Piotr Nazaruk. He will talk about his book „Bajglowe Imperium Hersza Lendera”. And at the House of Words, the first meeting of the Poetic Discussion Club will be held. We invite you to a meeting with Małgorzata Hołub-Kowalik to the Sports History Centre in Lublin. She is a Polish sprinter specialising in the 400 metres. She represented her country at two outdoor and two indoor World Championships winning a silver medal in the relay at the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships.

Walks

The Labirynt Gallery invites you to a walk within the "Pokazywanie Miasta " series. This time, Dominik Szurgot will present his own image of the city, places and people. On Friday, with the via Jagiellonica Foundation you may get to know Lublin of the Jagiellonian Union.

Exhibitions

Bogusław Słomka Galeria 1 (student’s gallery located at the Institute of Art History of the Catholic University of Lublin) invites you to an exhibition of photographs "Miejsca, które były" showing abandoned and forgotten places. Let’s see what the ruins can tell us! The Faculty of Arts of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University encourages you to learn about Krzysztof Bartnik's paintings. And there is the last chance to see the “Sainer/Modulations” exhibition at Brain Damage Gallery. First Polish solo exhibition of Sainer – a leading muralist, painter, and internationally renowned artist from the urban art scene.

Workshops

Clay workshop "Plate a’la Picasso" in Alchemilla - think and make your own plate inspired by the art of Picasso! It shall be full of colours and forms! Municipal Public Library, branch 38 invites you to music workshops (the age category from 5 up to 100 years). Moreover, Lotne Babki offer to participate in family workshops. It is not only a chance to lear how to build nesting boxes for birds but also to spend time with children.

Sport

On Friday, our volleyball players AZS UMCS Lublin will face the leaders - Astora MKS Sosnowiec. And on Saturday we invite you to Hala Globus to Polish Basketball League. Sport Development Foundation FRS invites you to participate in the 8th Run of Remembrance of Cursed Soldiers in the Wolf Track 2020. The event will take place in Saski Garden. Lublin will be one of over 300 polish cities that will pay tribute to the Cursed Soldiers. This event is part of the celebration of the National Cursed Soldiers' Remembrance Day (01.03).

For children

"Tiny Artists" - creative workshop with elements of English language learning for kids aged 3-6 will once again be held at Galeria Labirynt. And on a fairy-tale Sunday we invite the youngest to the Old Theatre.
