"Machia" directed by Juliusz Machulski will be performed at the Old Theatre on Friday. It is a theatrical performance dedicated to the person of Niccolo Machiavelli. Many opera lovers have been waiting for this title since the beginning of the season! And only for the second time on the stage of The Metropolitan Opera - "Porgy and Bess" by Gershwin! Moreover, it will be for the first time live broadcast at the Old Theatre on Saturday. The libretto of Porgy and Bess tells the story of Porgy, a disabled black street-beggar living in the slums of Charleston. It deals with his attempts to rescue Bess from the clutches of Crown, her violent and possessive lover, and Sportin' Life, her drug dealer. The opera plot generally follows the stage play. On the other hand, "Słowik i Babka Natura" is a brand new spectacle in the Andersen Theatre. On Saturday, the grand premiere is due to take place and from Sunday the show will appear in the usual repertoire! The Oscar Gala is just around the corner... Chatka Żaka Academic Culture Centre will present four films taking part in this year's American Film Academy competition: "Corpus Christi", "Marriage Story", "Honey land" and "The Irishman".
Musical hits performed by artists from Roma Musical Theatre are to be heard on Friday at the Lublin Philharmonic. And two days later, the band Rey Ceballo & Tripulacion Cubana, the most popular Cuban orchestra in Poland, will be the main guest! An remarkable event on Saturday will be held: “Czuła Obserwacja” feat. Luke Siatkowski. The project usually is carried out with the participation of extraordinary musicians and this time also unknown photographs of Lublin's life during the Transformation '89 -92' will be added.
NEONart is a unique project in Poland and probably in the world where 18 artists have designed 13 artistic neon lights for one city! The exhibition by Artur Trojanowski “Przypadek jako wypadkowa wielu zmiennych/The case as an accident of multiple variables” is held in Galeria Biała. Large-format painting, installations, spatial constructions, animations and sounds make up an exhibition meanings of which are transmitted in the language of abstraction. All elements of the exhibition belong to the cycle “Diagrams” created in 2017-2020.

The hero of each meeting is a different, specially selected book. And at 3 p.m. TINY ARTISTS -creative workshop with elements of English language learning for kids aged 3-6. These classes develop not only children’s imagination and creative and spatial instincts but also their language skills. The first lessons of the "Mała muzyka" series are ahead of us. It is a series of meetings prepared especially for the youngest audience (up to 3). Children actively participate in the concert. It covers musical, vocal and movement improvisation. This time the main role plays the accordion. We also invite you to an art and family workshop. This time we will focus on Lublin regional culture. We will find out what the inhabitants of other regions eat and whether everyone uses a pencil sharpener! In the second part of the course, participants will create their own work related to Lublin regional culture.
Who wants to dance? Lublin Dance Theatre invites you to the classes on the GaGa language. It is a movement language developed by Ohad Naharin and used in the daily training and practice of Batsheva Dance Company. Remember - registration required! The 30th January marks the beginning of a great equestrian festival, CSI2* CAVALIADA Lublin. It is the eighth time for fans at the Lublin Fair grounds, from 30th January to 2nd February 2020, to admire the best riders of four equestrian competitions: show jumping, dressage, driving and eventing. There will be plenty of entertaining special competitions, such as: Venus vs. Mars (women versus men), Puissance and Speed & Music. CAVALIADA Lublin is also the second stage of the Four-In-Hand Polish Indoor Cup as well as Eventing competitions. As every year, there will be a Fair of Equestrian Equipment and Accessories, as well as the Meet the Stars zone.
