Salem, the north of the United States. Small room in Pastor Parris house, where his daughter Betty lies unconscious. The girl with her friends was caught in the woods on the night dance looked like the pagan rites. Since then she can not wake up. When the girls are finally accused of witchcraft their lieder - Abigail Williams - the niece of Pastor Parris, finds a way to turn the suspicions away from her, and by the way to take revenge on this or other person. All hell breaks loose.
In 1692 in Salem Village and Salem Town in New England (the present state of Massachusetts, USA), nearly 80 men and women were brought to trial on charges of witchcraft. Almost all of them were sentenced to death. Before the "hunting" was stopped, there took place the executions of 13 women and 7 men.
"The Crucible" by ITP Theatre - is a reflection on the problem of fidelity, responsibility for a given word and fight for dignity. The theme of the performance is the background to show the content relevant at the all times and places - wherever people wish to live their lives with dignity.
