Without sovereign nations of the Soviet Union we will not regain and maintain our independence, wrote in autumn of 1977 Janusz Krupski, an initiator of Polish publishing independent from censorship in the first issue of the Independent Magazine of the Catholic Youth “Spotkania” (“Meetings”)
In 1974, as a student of Lublin Catholic University(KUL), Krupski , along with Bagdan Borusewicz and Piotr Jagliński, decided to put up the fight with a communist system by using FREE WORD. In spring of 1976 they smuggled the first printing machine into Poland

Janusz Krupski - co-originator of democratic opposition in the 1970s, editor-in-chief of the underground magazine “Spotkania “,the vice-president of IPN (the Institute of National Remembrance), publisher, the director of the Department of Combatants and Victims of Repression.
