Born in 1936, guitarist, composer, music arranger, band leader and producer, Ebo Taylor from Ghana has been a legendary figure on a musical arena for more than six decades. In the 1950s and 1960s he was active in such influential groups of a ‘highlife’ style as Broadway Dance Band or Black Star Band. He co-operated with Fela Kuti, Tony Allen and other African musicians. Ebo Taylor’s music incorporates traditional sounds and rhythms from Ghana and transforms it into afro-beat, jazz and funk. Taylor successfully created his own recognisable style.
