“Jurki” is a sketch comedy group from Zielona Góra established in 1994. For many years now, it has belonged to the sketch comedy heartland, so called ‘Zielonogórskie Zagłębie Kabaretowe’. Despite the light character of the performance, “Jurki” treat their audience seriously; not only do they pay particular attention to the content of their sketches but also to their form. When the viewers watch the show, they can feel that everything they see was done especially for them. “Jurki’s” writing and their acting abilities is of the highest level. Each of the three members of the group is an outstanding personality. Together, they make up a good team and create first-rate shows. In 1996 at PAKA, stand-up comedy group review held in Kraków, they delighted both the jury and the audience with the new phenomenon they created and called ‘the orphan trend’ which presented a group of shy, confused people, perplexed the audience’s by reactions which resulted in immediate bowing, often in the middle of a sketch. That performance was awarded the 1st Prize of the PAKA festival.
In their work, „Jurki” are predominantly concentrated on socio-cultural issues.
The group’s favourite subject of study is ‘human material’ understood as both observation of human behavior and testing oneself against achievements of culture. At the Lublin Philharmonic Hall, the group will present one of their shows titled „Family Album” where the subject matter is, obviously, family. In the show we can find bits and pieces of our own lives while watching sketches about marital problems, conflicts between parents and their children, dilemmas of young men about to part with army, their temporary family, or about a family of a professional footballer. The audience will encounter many colorful characters such as, inept husbands, dissolute wives, attractive lovers or talented children.
