Perhaps the most distinctive feature of British short films is that they are difficult to describe. Owing to a vast spectrum of problems they raise as well as their ways of narration and realization, these films oscillate between Terence Davies’ works and the Monty Python's Flying Circus. Works shown as part of the World Shorts: Great Britain do not claim to give an account from the British day-to-day reality; they rather create an original and surprising image of the rainy part of the world. The selection includes feature films, documentaries, animated films and experimental forms, which generates a peculiar film collage. Films of the World Shorts: Great Britain have been shown at the most important film festivals from Berlin to Melbourne, winning awards at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival and London Short Film Festival. Some of these shorts will be shown in Poland for the first time.
