Concert: Siddharta
The MonseArt Music Management Agency invites all to attend the four forthcoming concert of the Slovenian rock star Siddharta. The band returns to Poland a year after their critically acclaimed and commercially successful tour, during which Siddharta performed five times for their Polish fans. Motivated and encouraged by rave reviews, warm welcome, and standing ovation the band decided to play in Poland again.
Siddharta was established in 1995 when four friends – Tomi M. (vocals, guitar), Primož B. (guitar, backing vocals), Primož M. (bass guitar) i Boštjan M. (percussion) – decided to get together and play music using the name taken from the title of a novel by Hermann Hesse. The band quickly managed to create their own sound, striving to make it unique by adding the saxophone and keyboards. As a result, two musicians joined Siddharta - Cene R. (saxophone) and Tomaž O. R. (keyboard). Together, they were able to further their characteristic and identifiable sound. Prior to publishing their debut album, Siddharta took part in the RTV Slovenia and Studio Tivoli joint project, having been shortlisted and then singled out from many up-and-coming bands; the band’s music was included on the “Tivolski Pomp” compilation.
In 1997 Siddharta participated in the “Tivolski Pomp” project, which resulted in a compilation album that featured the band’s song entitled “Lunanai”. Their debut album called “ID” was recorded in the Tivoli Studio between April 1998 and February 1999. “ID” was produced by Dejan Radičevič and Anders Kallmark. The album was recorded with dual markets in mind – the domestic one and the foreign/international one. The cover, which was designed by two graphic design students – Maja Bagi and Iviana Mujezinovica, was awarded the prize at the Art and Design Festival in Zagreb. The album went platinum and sold 13 000 copies.
