Olena Grozovska is an art critic and owner of an art gallery. Her career in the music business started in 2005 as a member of the Sunclash band. The group recorded two albums and played numerous concerts all over the former Soviet Union. In 2011 Olena set up her new ensemble called «Grozovska Band», to which she invited musicians formerly associated with the following groups: FREEDOM JAZZ, TOPORKESTRA, Pushkin! Klezmer Band and Sunclash.
GrozovSka Band is a Ukrainian ethno-cabaret group, which utilises Balkan rhythms, the sounds of fado and Romany music, coupling all these styles with popular lyrics. Their music is very cosmopolitan and global as its basis is grounded in Ukrainian folk that has been affected by reggae, rock’n’roll and jazz. What is more, the cultural code upheld by GrozovSka Band is straightforward and easily penetrable.
