Karuzela Group is a band typified by an international line-up, created to perform the classics of Polish popular music in unexpected arrangement. As befits a crossover project, the group merges jazz, classical music, folk and country, often situating itself on the liminal space between different European cultures. It is the outcome of individual band members’ diverse artistic temperaments: Slavic, Scandinavian and Eastern European.
The end product of this fusion is a fascinating concert experience shared by the musicians with the audiences full of unlikely interpretations of the poetry of Agnieszka Osiecka, Julian Tuwim and Jacek Kaczmarski.
Interestingly enough, thanks to the Karuzela Group project, their poems and lyrics have been for the first time ever translated into Norwegian.
