EASTREET VOL.3 - photography exhibition
Eastreet vol. 3 is the third installment of a successful exhibition that, to our knowledge, it is the only project of this scale dedicated exclusively to street photography from Eastern Europe. Our intention is to present a group portrait of people in public spaces of Eastern European cities. The questions we pose are: What kind of changes do they experience and what kind of interactions do they participate in? How does an individual shape her/his environment, how does it influence our life, how do we interact with it? What is hidden under the surface of everyday life? Last, but not least – we want to promote the street photographers working in this part of the world and build a platform for devoted to the exchange of ideas, dialogue and inspiration.
The exhibition consists of photographs presenting the public space of Eastern Europe, chosen by the project’s curators as a result of an open competition. The shortlisted photos will be professionally prepared, printed, framed and mounted onto walls to be displayed during the Lublin leg of the East of Culture. The exhibition will be accompanied by a dedicated catalogue containing information about all the presented authors and followed up by a debate on the photographic documentation of space, featuring invited city-planners, artists and photographers.
