A Musical Journey Back to the 1950s and the 60s: Dream Girls & Black Pepper
Back in 1959 Berry Gordy, a popular composer of rhythm’n’blues themes, founded Motown Records, the singles released by which were to be in a few years to come recognised and promoted as “the sound of young America”. A few years later the success of the songs by the Supremes laid the foundation for the renown of Motown; “My Guy” recorded and later on performed live on stage nationwide by Mary Wells started the European expansion of the label.
Thanks to tribute acts such as Dream Girls and Black Pepper, you are given a chance to experience and taste the flavour of the music of the bygone era – the music that is characterised by honeyed sweetness, body-invigorating ginger and a dose of hot chocolate. This unique combination of two groups is a musical time machine that will take you back to the 1950s and the 60s, to the era of sensual and frivolous pin-up femininity.
