The second concert in series “Always Classical.”

The turn of the 19th and 20th centuries in classical music is undoubtedly the period of Impressionists. Inspired by painting and symbolist poets, there emerged a new movement in music standing in opposition to the romantic style of composing. On the centenary of Claude Debussy's death, we will focus on the composer’s work, considered the main representative of Impressionism in music.

Aleksandra Iwanow is a pianist, born in 1995 in Warsaw. She studies Piano under Prof. Alicja Palety-Bugaj and Dr. Agnieszka Przemyk-Bryła and Chamber Music under Prof. Krystyna Borucińska at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. Winner of many awards from national and international competitions, including the 3rd prize at the 21st International Piano Competition Roma 2011 in Rome, 3rd prize at the 3rd International Andrea Baldi Competition in Bologna and 1st prize and Grand Prix at the 3rd International Competition "Notes in Harmony 2015" in Betton. She develops her skills taking part in many lessons and master classes led by outstanding artists.

About the series: Classical things are always appreciated, always respected. Excellent, perfect, first-class. We refer to classic patterns in various areas of life. We say that the classic is always in fashion. With concerts held in the Węglin District Community Cultural Centre will try to convince you of the timelessness of classical music, of the fact that it is worth knowing the roots. Invited artists, who are passionate about discovering and interpreting forgotten works, will present pieces written by great composers.
