In long autumn evenings, when the power is off, it is raining and your eyes are tired of watching another TV series, it is time for a new surprising and engaging board game to appear. The 5th Board Games Festival will take place in ten Polish cities at the turn of September and October. In Lublin the event will be held at Empik Plaza on September 29-30, bringing together people from different generations at one table and at the same time will give them a lot of joy and the feeling of well spent time. The 5th edition of the Festival will also present a unique opportunity for exceptionally creative players – the first family board game competition.
On October 6–7 at Empik Plaza you will have an opportunity to discover the premieres of the season, test bestselling games and niche titles. You will be able to play trial parties with people who not only know the rules well but can explain and present them in practice. What is more, Empik’s 70th anniversary will be celebrated with the launch of a limited edition of the popular game Dobble Kultura. The card game contains 55 cards with specially designed pictures referring to culture, among other books, films and music. In turn, November will witness the premiere of a limited edition of the board game Monopoly.
This year's festival programme includes the first family board game competition. Game prototypes can be submitted by December 14. Winners will be announced on February 20, 2019. The winning game will be published, promoted in Empik stores, and its author will receive money.
