The Lublin Branch of the Union of Polish Composers invites you on Wednesday, May 16, to a piano recital by Michał Drewnowski. The concert will start at 7 pm at the Lublin Philharmonic. The event promotes Drewnowski’s latest CD, “W kręgu Andrzeja Nikodemowicza”.
The album is devoted to the memory of composer and lecturer Andrzej Nikodemowicz, who died in 2017. Associated with Lvov and Lublin, Andrzej Nikodemowicz was one of the most important animators of musical life in Lublin. He composed many pieces for piano and orchestra as well as choral works. His legacy includes a number of religious works such as cantatas, oratorios and psalms.
The concert is accompanied by an exhibition of photographs celebrating the 30th anniversary of AKORD concerts organized by the Lublin branch of the Union of Polish Composers and a screening of the last interview with Professor Andrzej Nikodemowicz recorded in 2015 during AKORD XV.
During the concert, copies of the CD for the audience will be drawn.
