The 9th edition of one of the most important blues festivals in Eastern Poland will be held on October 19–20 at MCSU’s Academic Cultural Centre "Chatka Żaka" and the Centre for Culture in Lublin. The Chatka Blues Festival has been organized since 2010 at the Academic Cultural Centre "Chatka Żaka" in Lublin.
This year's edition of Chatka Blues Festival will be opened by Bluesmaszyna. The band was founded in 2007 by Karol Lechowski, who created his original repertoire with lyrics in Polish. The band's music is characterized by the vocalist's strong voice and an energetic mouth organ with a distinctive sound.
Their concert will be followed by Adam Bartoś. Well-known to the Lublin audience, this vocalist and author of lyrics and music performs songs inspired by blues, jazz, folk and rock music of the 1970s.
The first day of the Festival will end with a performance by Jorgos Skolias & Friends. One of the most original Polish vocalists, Skolias is one of the few artists who have mastered the technique of harmonic singing where one person sings three notes at the same time.
The festival presents different shades of blues, both acoustic and electric. The event is characterized by high artistic and organizational quality as well as a unique atmosphere created by the artists together with the audience in the cult venue Chatka Żaka.
The event is organized by the Maria Curie Sklodowska University’s Alumni Foundation in cooperation with Maria Curie Sklodowska University in Lublin. The technical producer of the festival is the Academic Cultural Centre "Chatka Żaka," while the Festival’s originator and artistic director is Adam Bartoś.
Pre-sale tickets for the shows at promotional prices will be exclusively available at eBilet.pl from September 10 to October 10, 2018. Tickets from the eBilet platform can also be purchased in Empik stores across Poland. In addition, tickets will be available for purchase at the ticket offices of the Academic Cultural Centre "Chatka Żaka" and the Centre for Culture in Lublin on the days of the shows (October 19-20).
