"Evening at the Microphone" is a TV show whose ambition is to become a modern heir of the popular radio program "Tea at the Microphone," first broadcast from the Bristol Hotel (1936-1939), and after World War 2 – from the surviving premises of the former Wedel Chocolate Lounge in Marszałkowska Street. Guests were hosted by wonderful Tadeusz Bocheński. Warsaw residents listened with emotion to "The Song about My Warsaw" performed by Mieczysław Fogg.
"Tea at the Microphone" became a regular TV show in 1958. The idea of bringing back the pre-war show was conceived by Andrzej Rumian, who enlisted the cooperation of filmmaker Jan Zelnik. The show was usually broadcast from the "Stolica" café. The authors of the program were poet Roman Sadowski and satirist Jerzy Baranowski. Then, unfortunately, the show disappeared for the air for a long time and did not appear until recently on Lubelska.TV under the name of "Evening at the Microphone.” The program has been broadcast for one and a half years, and has become very popular with the viewers. It reaches over one million viewers via digital platforms, such as UPC, Orange and Netia, and local TV networks. It is available online on TV channels and YouTube. The show is hosted by Marek Wieczorek, experienced radio and television journalist, who can captivate the audience with his charm and humour, engaging invited guests in a discussion and creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
