Pomost Gallery cordially invites you to the opening of an exhibition of Tobiasz Papuczys’ photographs, Teatr/nie-Teatr (Theatre/Non-Theatre).
Focusing on the problem of alienation and loneliness, the exhibition shows photographs taken both in the theatre and in public space. This juxtaposition serves as a means to show that the boundary between art and life does not exist any longer (and perhaps never existed). In modern theatrical productions the viewer more and more often becomes the performer, although this should not be understood as a real physical interaction with the audience, rather as triggering mental processes. The photographs on display focus on the relationship between the actor and the viewer, which – in today's postmodern reality – is primarily based on co-experiencing the mutual (bodily) presence and not the (intellectual) order of representation.
