Falcon Fantasy Festival 2018 will take place on October 12-14. The event is organized for the 19th time, and this year’s programme includes over 500 events.

The leitmotif of this year's edition of the Festival is "The East of Slavic Myths." One can observe a kind of renaissance of Slavic mythology in pop culture. Numerous references to this subject can be found, among others, in books and computer games (e.g. The Witcher), as well as in music (e.g. Żywiołak). Not only do Nordic and Japanese mythologies deserve a place in our culture.

This programme of Falkon Festival 2018 features over 500 events. Traditionally, there will be cosplay contests along with RPG and board games sessions. An important element of the program is the best LARP game competition. Participants will together create and experience stories, just like in improv theatre.

The programme of the Festival also includes meetings with creators associated with fantasy. Guest writers to this year’s edition of the Festival include Andrzej Pilipiuk, Agnieszka Hałas, Jacek Piekara and Robert Wegner. The event will also feature Tomasz Knapik, the Darwin Film Group (mainly known for funny but professional videos on YouTube) and Wiktor Stribog, columnist, culture expert, author of the Kraina Grzybów TV project.

Falcon will also host international guests including Ian R. MacLeod, one of the most interesting contemporary fantasy writers from the United Kingdom. The programme of Falkon 2018 also includes lectures and discussion panels. Participants will learn, for example, how to take the first steps in writing fantasy or designing board games; if violence in fantasy is necessary and whether you can survive a nuclear explosion.

The programme also includes workshops on make-up, decoupage, dubbing and Korean writing. Apart from that, there will also be dance, theatre and music performances (Żywiołak, Ethnopolia, Ursa, 6BM), as well as pyrotechnics shows. One of the new items on the program is a "Talent Contest." Last but not least, the Festival’s programme includes the Falkon Arena, where you will see martial arts demonstrations and historical re-enactments.
