Hanka Bondarenko is a poet, actress, film director and psychotherapist. An absent-minded child and teenager, full of inspirations and funny stories that she told her friends at school pretending they were the films she had watched, she tried in vain to "heal" herself of building castles in the air. Only as a mature woman did she begin to seriously treat her artistic inspirations, first simply writing them down on random sheets of paper and napkins, then working with them and finally becoming able to show them to the world.
"Kobieta która gotuje rosół" (The Woman Who Cooks Broth) is her first published book.
For two years, she has been working as a screenwriter and director on a film of the same title. She graduated in Polish Philology. Her master's thesis, The Process of Individuation in the Script Works of Krzysztof Zanussi. An attempt at Interpretation in the Light of C. G. Jung's Theory, was nominated for the rector's award, winning an honorary distinction award. The fascination with the human unconscious led her to study process psychology and become a certified psychotherapist.
She also completed acting and filmmaking schools. Her poems have been published in numerous newspapers and literary magazines, including Akant, Pegasus Lubuski, Dziennik Polski and Krytyka Literacka. She has been a columnist with the Zwierciadło magazine. Bondarenko is the author of many song lyrics, including "Karmazynowe tango" and "Balonik." Currently, she is thinking of starting a cabaret.
