Their latest, ninth album, Live, was released in mid-September, although it was recorded almost two years ago, during a live show in Antwerp at Middelheim Jazz Festival 2016. The album features works known from their previous studio recordings in new arrangement, performed as usual with unbridled energy. In 2019 Marcin Wasilewski, Sławomir Kurkiewicz and Michał Miśkiewicz will celebrate the 25th anniversary of joint artistic work in the same line-up. After more than twenty-three years of playing together, their shows confirm a thesis that musically they form a homogeneous whole; one perfectly symbiotic and perfectly sounding organism. In September 2018 the trio released their fifth album on ECM Records and their first concert album recorded on a warm August evening at Park Den Brandt during Middleheim Jazz Festival 2016 in Antwerp. In autumn the Trio started a concert tour promoting this live album in Poland and abroad. Anyone who has ever heard the music of Marcin Wasilewski Trio recorded in the studio and had the opportunity to hear the Trio live has been waiting for this album for many years. Both on the album and during the show at Stary Theatre in Lublin, you will find all the best you can hear in Trio’s music: the romanticism, delicacy and lyricism of the ballads known from studio recordings alongside the dynamics and unbridled energy of concert performances, just as captured on the "Live" album to the accompaniment of over five thousand enthusiastic listeners at Middelheim Jazz Festival.
